New
Members Class
Welcoming new converts into the body
of Christ, and new members into ministry
at Sixth Mount Zion Baptist Temple
is very important to us. To help facilitate
this process, a New Members’ Class
was established. During this class,
new members and new converts are taught
the mission, vision, and core values
of SMZBT, and how these philosophical
doctrines find expression in the daily
lives of our members. They are also
taught our church history as well
as important information on being
a member of the Baptist Faith.
This class runs several times throughout
the year, with each session lasting
1 ½ hours. This class lasts six weeks.
At the end of the class, a Spiritual
Inventory will be administered to
help the new members look toward doing
ministry.
Topics included in the New Members’
Class are:
• Session I –
Mission, Vision, Core Values of SMZBT;
Our Salvation
• Session II
– Baptism and The Lord’s Supper
• Session III
– Articles of Faith
• Session IV
– Prayer
• Session V
– Stewardship
• Session VI
– Ministry, History of Sixth Mount
Zion Baptist Temple
All new members and converts are strongly
encouraged to take this class. At
the end of this class, all participants
are strongly encouraged to begin the
MasterLife process.
“So you are all children of God through
faith in Christ Jesus. And all who
have been united with Christ in baptism
have been made like him. There is
no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or
free, male or female. For you are
all Christians – you are in Christ
Jesus.”
--Galatians 3:26-28
